a little press never hurt ;)

A little press never hurts, especially right before a big show!! I'm over the moon that I received so many write-ups!! Both in art & design LICENSING and TOTAL Art Licensing. Hopefully this is a really good sign of what's to come in the next few days years.

Things are really starting to pick up momentum and I'm looking forward to keeping pace and not getting post-event depression. It's been known to sneak up on me.(I got it really bad after my wedding.) I was chatting with a friend a few weeks ago, who use to do event planning, and she said that it was pretty common in her industry. It's a good thing that I've been keeping a running list of things to do post show. And let's just say it's a pretty long list.

Consistency

Consistency, this has been my "word" this year. At first it took me a little while to land on it, but consistency has definitely been MY word. I've been hyper conscious and have been trying to be more consistent WITH EVERYTHING!!

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. – Aristotle

It’s actually really hard to achieve, well for me anyway. The problem is that my passions and interests can sometime go in waves, and so too can my momentum and moods. I can be really engaged and going full steam ahead and then I’ll totally get derailed and fall off the track, by the smallest of roadblock. I think it must be an artist thing cause I know so many others that are also like this.

The other night I was chatting online with some friends and this topic of consistency came up in regards to blogging.

So on a whim I thought I'd go ahead and google the word consistency to see what type of imagery would come up. There was a interesting mix of arrows, bullseyes, graphs, cooking batter & frosting, and side by side comparison images, but the one that spoke to me was this one:"Consistency is Better Than Rare Moments of Greatness". Hmmmm what an interesting perspective. What do you think is Consistency really better than Rare Moments of Greatness? And is it that you only get to those "Moments of Greatness" by practicing your craft and being consistent?

It takes twenty years to become an overnight success. – Eddie Cantor

I've got my first 10 down now I only need 10 more :-)
