My 29-Day Giving Challenge :: Day 18

s’mores supplies::

I got coerced by these little people to pick up supplies for s’mores.

And since I promised, I need to follow thru and make a trip into town to pick up all the necessary ingredients.

It was totally worth the drive seeing the smiles and excitement over something so simple :)

My 29-Day Giving Challenge :: Day 17

A ride on the chair::

Against my over protective maternal instincts I let Ava Blu ride the chair lift and ski down the Meadow Trail by herself, with her little ski school friend. The grin on her face was from ear to ear and she was gleaming with excitement and the feeling of independence. It was really great to see. I think I need to continue to let go and let her spread her wings. She really can do some amazing things.

**Now as a disclaimer I should note that I had her in my sights the whole time and Meadow is the greenest of green trails at Alpine.

share out :: Margie Livingston: Painting as Sculpture

Gosh, I just thought this was so cool that I just had to share. Margie’s work totally brought me back to the days when my palettes would have a huge pile of old paint buildup on them. I would peal them off and think they were so pretty. Of course and then I would have a terrible time deciding if I should throwing them away or keep them. Eventually they would all end up in the trash. Gosh, if I only would of had the vision that Margie has. Her objects and sculptures are very beautiful.

My paint pallette build up is nothing compaired to this…It’s stunning! And to see her process is really cool!

My 29-Day Giving Challenge :: Day 15 & 16

Dinner and help in the kitchen :: This is a BIG DEAL because I don’t (can’t) cook!! I made 2 lasagna the first night and then helped make my grandma’s chicken soup the next and 2 pumpkin pie’s (granted I burnt them a bit for lack of attention, but I’m told that they still tasted really good)

My 29-Day Giving Challenge :: Day 14

Ok, Ok…So I’m a little back logged chronicling my gift giving challenge.

I’m working on getting back on track and over the next few weeks I will be posting the remaining days of my challenge. It really was an amazing experience!! :-)

An ornament or 2 and some patients packing ::

I spent the day packing and shipping and in turn shipped out some ornaments for a little surprise to a few of the folks that were taking part in this years ornament exchange. I hope they will be surprised when they receive a little extra something from me ❅ ❅ ❅

We had planned on packing for Tahoe the night before and for one reason or another that just didn’t happen. So when 6 o’clock rolled around instead of running around like crazy trying to get everyone to rush and get ready (which is what I normally do to get us out the door on time) I was calm and instead just let everyone pack at their own pace. We didn’t leave until 10pm but in the end it really didn’t matter. It’s not like i was the one doing the driving anyway.

ahhhh….can I start 2012 next week!?!

I’m totally slammed this week…can I have a redo and start the new year next week!?!

I moved into my new studio space over the weekend and have soooo much organizing to do, but it’s gonna have to wait till I get back from Atlanta next week.

At least I’m IN!!
