pro·cras·ti·nate -To put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness. To postpone or delay needlessly.

I am such a pro at this. I can only imagine how much time I would save if I could just figure out how to STOP PROCASTINATING.I have so much work & personal stuff to do before my holiday vacation, but do I work ahead so that I don’t have to rush at the last second? NO, not me. I must like to torture myself or perhaps I’m just a junkie for the rush of adrenaline when I have tight deadlines. Does anyone else put themselves through this type of unnecessary stress? I’ve always admired in high school the kids in class who would turn their book report in early I was always cramming the night before to get mine done.

Preliminary Drawing for Adoption

adoption, originally uploaded by cindymedia.

Here are my preliminary drawings for adoption. I was racking my brain over this one. How do you show adoption without being cliche? That was the tough part. I thought of all the normal things first. 2 parents holding a child’s hand, the orphanage, showing a racially diverse family hugging. But none of those were hitting the spot. I knew that I didn’t want to be that literal. I wanted to create an image that was more symbolic and universal. The only way I felt I could do that was to not base it in reality and steer away from using people.
